I was just on the Bren Ten website and noticed that Eric Kincel wrote the July 1991 Gun World article detailing the Peregrine Falcon. His passion for the Bren Ten goes way back.

Well....since we have not seen anything new on Vltor's web-site, I felt I should update myself (so-to-speak) in reference to my story (who cares right?) of how I am saving up for the new Bren Tens...

I've managed to sell some firearms, and sock away enough cash (in these hard times) to POSSIBLY buy four Bren Tens from Vltor. I did stray away a little and I used some cash to buy a new Sig 225, and like others on this forum, the wait is killing me. I won't post anything...

Why the Witness Magazine?

Does any of the intrepid 10mm fans here have a Witness magazine and a Glock Magazine? I am interested why the Witness magazine was chosen over any other magazine. The Witness mags appear to be of fair to indifferent quality, with a history of non spectacular reliability. Why choose this magazine over the Glock or even the P-16 Para magazine, both magazines with a history of reliability (the full size 10mm Glock magazine spectacularly so). Are the dimensions of the Witness smaller than these...

Eric Kincel has been out of CONUS for the last two weeks & I finally had an opportunity to chat with him this morning. Abrams Airborne Manufacturing, Inc has had a slowdown in demand & rather than facing layoffs, employees & CNC equipment are being shifted around along with other production facilities to accomodate VLTOR's bread & butter. Obviously, the Obama Administration has had a huge impact on demand for AR15/M16 related accessories. It seems that the venerable Colt...

I was going through new gun magazines at my local 7-11 and in "The Complete Book Of Guns" 2009 Annual #78, there is a listing/picture for the Vltor Fortis (alphabetical) on page #106.

Who Will Still Buy a Fortis?

First, let me state that I'm not affiliated with VLTOR in any way. Though I'm from Arizona, I've never been to the company, never met anyone from there, and don't have any other ties.

With all the general dissatisfaction amongst the Bren Ten faithful, I'm wondering how many will buy a Fortis when it comes out?

As we are all aware, Vltor said in January that they will be releasing the Bren Ten in "four to six months", so April to June of this year. The first announcement will be the "reserving of serial numbers". Anyone want to bet what those dates will be? My guess will be one month before actual release of the weapon, so my guess will be March 25th.

Witness Magazines

Blued magazines from CDNN for 26.99 ea. Other sources seem to have dried up or are back ordered. I got three and they are new factory mags, red followers and poly base pad as in the pictures on the Vltor website. Useful as practice magazines.

Eric was kind enough to send me a pic of one of their Fortis SMVs being test fired by Jeff, a Vltor engineer. Test ammo was Double Tap, but I don't know what loading.

Sorry for the photobucket links, but this evening when I have the time, I'll edit, re-size and post better photos.
The FORTIS has landed! Eric showed me most of the final revisions to the externals which they still want to make, but mechanically, the gun is "good to go!" The SFL and SFD versions appear perfect and the Vice model carries a 08SMV prefix. They're keeping the traditional date and model designator with that model havinng a "V" for "Vice"...
