I dusted off my MV collection today and had a chance to watch this episode again. I guess technology has come on a long way- I could never really make out what gun Crockett uses in the end sequence shoot out. But having seen it again in DVD format I think i can rest the case here.

Wrong.

If you look closely at the "load up" sequence prior to the final shootout in the "Freefall" finale, Sonny is filling magazines, inserts one into the gun and racks the slide. Look at the slide and the whole gun for that matter and tell me what you see.

I recently watched the "Redemption in Blood" and "Hostile Takeover" episodes from Season Five, where Crockett goes bad and believes he is Burnett.

I was thinking recently about the .45 combat master as used by Sonny Crockett in MV.

I have only a few memories of this gun in the show-mainly one of whatching every week to see Crocketts ankles in his armadi trousers WITHOUT an ankle holster!!!!!!!!

But it was a good back up gun- although an extremely rare and expensive one (this for a cop that carried a Bren Ten!!).
