How do you take down a Bren for cleaning? |

I'm just looking at the internal shots of the new vltor fortis and it just occured to me, how exactly do you take down the gun for cleaning and reassemble
it? I can't seem to find the manual for it online anywhere and I've never seen one, let alone owned one.

I doubt you will see a manual on line because it's a book of about 70 pages. I breaks down in a fashion similar to most other bottom feeders-no big
mystery.

Its the muzzle crown that im not sure of, other than that it looks like it would take down like a regular 1911.

The barrel bushing does not come out to field strip.

I seem to recall that "Crockett" washed his in salt water.

I think the "lube" Sonny used was served in shot glasses as well!

It disassembles like any CZ-75 type weapon. On a CZ, there are hash marks to line up on the frame and slide. None are are on the Bren Ten. You simply retract
the slide back about 1/16" and push out the slide stop from the right to the left. The slide pulls off and you can remove the recoil spring guide and
plug, then the barrel.
There will most likely be an online version of the manual soon enough. I'll post a link once it gets scanned in. |
