Our house sits on a cutout on the side of a hill and when the winter rains hit we end up getting a lot of dirt/mud sluffing off the embankment into our backyard. In an attempt to mitigate this I had a guy come out with his cat and cut a notch diagonally across the hillside above the house to divert some of the runoff. While he was here I asked him if he could cut out a small area for a shooting range. It's only about 10' wide and 50' or so deep, but it sure beats driving 15 miles to the nearest range. I'll probably only use it for .22s as we have a number of neighbors close by, but I need to build some kind of bullet trap as we're on well water and I don't want to pump a bunch of lead into the hillside. My son and I went out to do a little shooting this evening using some old, scrap lumber as a backstop. He was shooting his .22 Cricket he got for Christmas and I was using my Spike's Tactical. I told my wife we'd only be a couple minutes, but you know how it goes...
